Pipe Locating Stake

Our pipe-locating stake started its intellectual property life in the 1990s with an inventor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky who worked in the natural gas industry. He saw a need for a better locating device to prevent accidental rupturing of natural gas pipes as well as ready access to make alterations to those units. This inventor had been shopping the idea and the intellectual property for the pipe-locating stake for almost 7 years before we met and began working on this project together.

Currently PD3 has four dedicated salesmen for this project and has targeted over 70 companies for direct sales of this pipe throughout the region. The license purchased by PD3 expires in 2011. By that time our inventor establishes this stake in a viable market, the inventor will have the option of renewing with us to continue marketing his stake or to take this stake independent of PD3. In either event, this becomes a “win-win” situation for the inventor and PD3 in that we establish markets and provide the inventor with the methods necessary to capture market shares while we profit from the first years and provide the inventor with royalties he had been unable to capture independently.
